Vocal remover and karaoke maker
Take the singer out of a stereo song for a karaoke version. It removes what sits in the middle of the mix, so it is not AI stem separation: bass and drums get a bit quieter too.
How it works

How it works
In most studio songs the lead vocal sits in the middle of the stereo mix, while instruments are spread left and right. The vocal remover cancels out what's in the middle and keeps the rest.
What it can't do
Bass and drums are often in the middle too, so they get quieter. Reverb on the voice can stay behind. Live recordings and mono files don't work, and MeloCut will tell you if a file is mono. Turning up Bass in Effects brings some of the low end back.

How to installQuestions and answers
Does it work on every song?
It works best on studio songs with the vocal in the center. Mono recordings cannot be separated this way.
Why is the bass quieter?
Bass is often in the center of the mix too. Raise the Bass slider to bring it back.
