Remove silence from audio
Automatically cut the long pauses and dead air out of recordings, so they get shorter and easier to listen to.
How it works
A voice note, podcast, lecture or video.
Remove silences is already on. Press Play with effects.
Press Convert, then Download.
How it works
MeloCut looks for stretches where the sound stays below a very quiet level for more than about 0.8 seconds and cuts them out. Normal pauses between words stay, so speech still sounds natural.
Works best on
Voice recordings, lectures, interviews and long voice notes. On music it would also cut quiet intros and endings, so it's usually not what you want for songs.
Noisy room?
If there's a fan or traffic in the background, the gaps aren't really silent. Switch on AI noise removal as well, or use the AI Noise Remover, which has this turned on too.

How to installQuestions and answers
Will it cut the pauses between words?
No. Only quiet gaps longer than about 0.8 seconds are removed.
Why did nothing get removed?
The pauses probably contain background noise. Turn on AI noise removal or Reduce hiss and try again.
